3.  Now add and subtract both!

4.  Figure out what was done in each step - either addition or subtraction!

5.  Add the decimals mentally.  Pay close attention to the number that only has tenths.   If it makes adding easier, tag a zero to it so the addends will have the same amount of decimals.  You can think of the number line if it helps.
