# Geometry games and resources online

This is an annotated and hand-picked list of online tutorials, games, worksheets, and activities for geometry. It is a long list, but I have grouped the websites by the subtopics in geometry, so please see the following menu. Each topic has resources that fit many grade levels.

**Constructions**

**Geometric Construction**

An interactive lesson with explanations and quiz from Absorb Mathematics course written by Kadie Armstrong, a mathematician.

**Animated Geometric Constructions**

Simple animations that show how to do basic geometric constructions.

**Geometric Constructions Illustrated with Interactive Java Applets**

Interactive applets and instructions for doing the basic geometric constructions online.

**RoboCompass**

An interactive online environment where you can draw using virtual compass, ruler, and protractor in a coordinate grid. Robocompass uses a total of 22 drawing commands, such as draw a point, draw a perpendicular line, find an angle, reflect an object, and so on.

**Key to Geometry Workbooks**

Here is a non-intimidating way to prepare students for formal geometry. *Key to Geometry* workbooks introduce students to a wide range of geometric discoveries as they do step-by-step constructions. Using only a pencil, compass, and straightedge, students begin by drawing lines, bisecting angles, and reproducing segments. Later they do sophisticated constructions involving over a dozen steps-and are prompted to form their own generalizations. When they finish, students will have been introduced to 134 geometric terms and will be ready to tackle formal proofs.

**GRACE - Graphical Ruler and Compass Editor**

An interactive online tool that allows dynamic creation and modification of ruler and compass constructions. Constructions may be built from one of five geometric primitives (Line, Line Segment, Ray, Circle, Perpendicular Bisector, and Intersection), and from other constructions; thus constructions may be built by composing more basic constructions.

**Geometry worksheets at AGMath.com**

Hundreds of free PDF worksheets for high school geometry topics, including geometric constructions, triangle congruence, circle, area, the Pythagorean Theorem, solid geometry, and similarity. The worksheets are loosely based on the "Discovering Geometry" textbook by Michael Serra. Compiled by math teacher Jason Batterson.
